Game-wise the inspirations could be found in the early "Zelda" games, "Ico", the "Gothic" series and "Dark Souls". Of course those are mere inspirations; this project can obviously not expect to compete on equal footing with those amazing games.

The rules of the game are simple:

1. Form words from available letters.
2. Attack monsters with a magic spell formed by the letters.
3. Be quick, as the monsters are anything but friendly.
4. Advance through the dungeons.

The full version of the game will feature:

- 2 game modes: Story (which will tell us the tale of a young wizard, trapped in a magic tower) and Arena: where players get to fight monsters in an arcade style, endless game mode
- a simple RPG system, including statistics, levels of experience, items and loot
- varied types of dungeons, swarmed with different kinds of enemies, including every-day dungeon fellas (rats, bats and beholders) and bosses, unique for every type of dungeon.

We're also thinking about implementing a Multiplayer mode, depending on the community support for the game. Please tell us, if you'd like one.

Background info:
We have been working on this game for some time. Early prototypes has been created in November, but due to poor tests results, we decided to abandon the project.

The project has been revived in January, when the Ouya CREATE game-jam has been announced. We have rewritten the game from scratch, redesigned all the mechanics and remade the assets so they would fit personal computers (PC, Mac, Linux), OUYA console, and touchscreen systems.

The audio is built by using the Kinect to play and loop synths and other sound generating VSTs with Chris' software "Kinectar". Along with the Ableton Live instruments there are backing drum loops and buildup sounds which are triggered the foot switches (FCB1010) to provide an extra layering to the tracks that can't be controlled live with the Kinect alone. Scripted sounds are kept to an absolute minimum, with the flow of the pieces and the layering completely controlled by Chris.
The motion control data as well as audio analysis feed into the visual system which brings to life real time rendered audio reactive abstract visuals. The visuals consist mostly of generative abstract geometry, glitchy shaders and procedural animation produced in Unity.

The audio backing, looped and live content can be seen on screen which is representing FFT data analyzed on the audio-computer and sent via OSC to the visual computer.

There is NO post on this video except editing between the cameras and between the audio captured by the cameras and direct feed. This is literally the performance from start to finish.

This live performance was created by Studio Sapien in Copenhagen. The below is from their blog -

"As head of Motion Capture, my job was to get a stable motion capture with minimum 3 actors at the same time. Scence it was for a live performance, it had to work rocksolid for an hour, three times a day. I managed to calibrate our 24 cameras to motion track 4 persons with 38 point skeleton relatively stable. So we were able to perform with all four actors simultaneously in some scenes.

The biggest problem I find with the Optitrack system is it's limitation to only capture two actors simultaneously with optimised performance, and the limited way to differentiate the actors dots on the suits, so Arena can identify who is who in the capture area.

This was a graduation project at the Danish Film School for the animation director Petter Madegård. But there are great things in the works, so you can look forward to see more from us in the near future."
