Brian Fargo, legendary game developer currently working on Wasteland 2 with Unity discusses his experiences in using Kickstarter as well as crowd sourcing knowledge to get the game into production.
This video really helped me regain some confidence. I'll be sure to show it to our development team.
I would just like to congratulate Brian Fargo for his work in the industry so far (Wasteland specially), and for the brilliant idea of "kicking it forward". I was under the impression that the funding money was going to be used to "kick it forward", which had limited reach, but now that he explained that the money will come from profits, I understand how that will snowball into something big as the next crowdfunded "minecrafts" start to make money. Great speech.
i hope one day obsidian and inXile merges and gives us awesome cRPGs like in ye good ol' days of interplay. i know, it's a childish dream :)
